A corner Milford
has loved since 1984
For nearly four decades this little corner on Naugatuck Avenue was the morning ritual for half of Milford — back then it was Little Lasse's Coffee Shop, where the coffee was always on and a fellow named Phil ran the griddle for 37 years.
Low-key, no frills, a hand-lettered board on the wall, and the kind of welcome that turned strangers into regulars by their second visit. Folks still talk about his coffee and his blueberry pancakes.
The name's a wink to him — pull in, and we'll “Phil 'er up” with a good breakfast and a warm cup.
Today, in Phil's memory, the tradition is carried on by Armand — reborn as Phil 'er Up Cafe. Same corner, same early mornings, now with a bright, coastal spirit and Walnut Beach just down the road.
